I'm sure many would mention that we have improved our community's air quality in the last thirty years, and that our air is now more clean than ever. And while we're on the topic, let's remember the third world. An plain major reason our air here in the U.S. This forces levels of pollution unknown in today's U.S, on millions of the Earth's poorest people. 
Our air may be more clean than ever, but in several very populated parts of the U.S. The air quality is reason for alarm. Recent revelations as to the toxicity of the air outside many U.S. Schools has lead the EPA to launch a rare new air toxics monitoring initiative which will research the air outside 62 colleges in twenty-two states. The schools are all in areas which according to central authority info, are out to be poisonous hot spots. 
 
The EPA recognizes this program comes in the aftermath of a recent USA Today study which used government data to show that air outside 435 colleges was more poisonous than than air outside Meredeth Hitchens Elementary. Hitchens Elementary was an Ohio college closed in 2005 after the Ohio EPA discovered air born carcinogen concentrations fifty times higher than acceptable state levels.
