When people talk of beauty, a perfect body figure always pops up. A slim body has always been synonymous to beauty. This psyche gave way to the discovery of slimming pills, liposuction and other breakthroughs in the field of cosmetic surgery. The risk of irreversible side effects, however, is high. A number of people aspiring to shed pounds and have used these various slimming methods have complained of bad effects and some even died without having to achieve the “elusive” goal. Who would not want to get a whistle-bait figure? To those who can afford, it is indeed fast and easy – all they have to do is walk through the clinics and in a matter of hours, they step out totally renewed. Yet to those who hardly have enough money to spend for food, this may just be a dream.
However, there is no reason to be frustrated – one can be sexy with no effort and no money at all!
After a series of researches, a psychologist came up with a number of simple tips, some we already unconsciously practice without knowing the effects. We were made to believe that we can loose weight by taking in a special diet. Yet the psychologist claimed it is not really the amount of intake which reduces weight – it is how we take them. She gave the following suggestions which when followed may end our long search for ways to trim down.
1. Use a smaller plate when eating. A 6 oz. food would appear “too much” when placed on a 6” diameter plate than on an 8” one.
2. Avoid the sight of food unless it is time for you to eat. Craving for food is lessened when you do not see anything to eat.
3. Buy food is smaller packs. Studies showed that people who buy pasta in large packs tend to consume about 23% more than those who buy in smaller packs.
4. Eat only on the dining table. Eating in front of the TV or in the living room causes more interruptions which divert your attention to the amount of food you are taking in. You end up eating more than usual.
5. Choose a slim and tall drinking glass over a small but stout one. The first looks fuller but with less quantity than the later. Practice this especially when drinking soft drinks.
6. Eat more protein foods like lean meat than carbohydrates. You get the same degree of fullness but lesser in quantity.
7. Do not eat the last table spoon of food on your plate. This practice reduces more than a hundred grams of calories in a year.
So why waste your energy exercising in gyms for hours? Why waste your hard-earned penny when you can be slim and sexy with practically nothing to spend? Some may be skeptical about the idea but why not give these tips some try? Start the habit now and get the surprise of your life!
