It’s Not a Vacation without Massage Therapy in 4th Street Downtown St. Petersburg and Tampa 33607

In an article in the Spring 2009 online issue of Massage Envy Magazine, Shelley Flannery writes that the Travel Industry Association has stated that an annual vacation or time away from work can reduce one’s risk of having a heart attack by as much as 50 percent. Going on vacation is, therefore, no longer a luxury but a need. If the whole point of going on vacation is to reduce stress and recoup lost energy, then massage therapy should definitely be on the agenda. You need not worry because you can get massage therapy at a very reputable massage clinic at 4th Street Downtown St. Petersburg that serves St. Pete and Tampa 33607.

Indeed, there are times when we say we need a vacation after our vacation. This happens when the vacation turns out to be even more stressful than work. This need not be the case, though. Proper planning is the key. And the crucial ingredient is massage.

Flannery gives a list of six important things to do before you leave for your vacation.

1.Make a list of all the things you need to do before you leave. With all the excitement going on, you’re liable to miss out on something unless every little detail is put down on paper. Do the list when you’re not occupied with something else. Keep the list handy, too, so you can add whatever comes to mind that you might not have thought of before. Include in the list tasks that you have to delegate and whom you intend to delegate them to. Mark the list whenever a task has been completed.

2.Make sure you do not worry about work by having someone trained to take over your tasks. Leave detailed instructions so that they will not have to call you.

3.For security purposes, inform your neighborhood patrol that your home will be unoccupied so that they can include it in their monitoring. Request your trusted neighbors to keep an eye on your home, too, and authorize them to receive any special deliveries. Make sure your mail and newspaper deliveries are temporarily halted.

4.Leave all your important documents and papers with a trusted family member and take only photocopies so you do not run the risk of losing them. Also make sure you leave information on where and how you can be reached throughout your vacation.

5.After packing for the trip, make sure you leave your home tidy. When you come home from vacation, you will appreciate seeing everything spic and span.

6.Turn off the water supply to your home so you do not risk water damage.

Planning and preparation in itself can be tiring and stressful. Jumpstart your relaxation mode by getting a massage before you even leave home. This will put you in the proper frame of mind for enjoying the rest of your holiday.

You should also find out if there are opportunities to get a massage where you’re going. Even just a single massage session right smack in the middle of your vacation period will go a long way in making sure that you’re not playing too hard to really relax.

Of course, upon returning home, you need to give yourself some space before going right back to work. Make sure your schedule is not so tight as to need to report for work immediately upon arrival. This will just turn on your stress again. Instead, allow yourself a day or two to unpack and get back into your routine. Include a session at your favorite massage clinic to rub away any remaining traces of fatigue and recharge your spirit for work.

You can get various modalities of massage therapy, including Swedish massage therapy, deep tissue massage therapy, sports massage therapy and pregnancy massage therapy, from a professional massage clinic at 4th Street Downtown St. Petersburg, whether you are from St. Pete or Tampa 33607.
