NLP training lets you let go of issues overnight

My best friend in the late eighties was unemployed and on housing benefit, and he rented a room in my flat, which I rented in turn from a work colleague. One day I came home and he’s hastily vacated the premises, owing me hundreds in rent and unpaid bills. I was angry, hurt and felt betrayed.

Some time later I helped set up a magazine business with some friends and we had a sort of “gentleman’s agreement” with a professional journalist who knew the publishing industry. He basically stole it from under our feet, and I was left with the bills to pay. That left me angry, hurt and scared that it could happen again.

In relationships, my first girlfriend was everything I ever wanted at that age – I was in heaven. Six months later I caught her with a friend of mine. That was anger and betrayal again!

Are we seeing a pattern yet?

My brother had studied psychology, so I started reading about the mind and human behaviour. Later I would do correspondence courses, devour more books, and eventually stumble across motivational speakers and positive thinking. I learned how to think optimistically, set goals for my life.

Last year I set out to get five major outcomes, including my dream house, my ideal income and dream car, and I did…

Remember the movie “Back to the Future” – the Delorean time machine? Imagine if you could go back in time to make changes in your past history. What would you change?

And what about the future? If you could create it in advance, what would you install there?

Well, keep reading, because you’re going to learn how to use your own internal time machine. As Richard Bandler once said, “It’s never too late to have a happy childhood”

So let’s start that journey right now. Take a blank sheet of paper, and split it into two columns. The first should be headed “What do I want to let go of?” and the second “What do I want to gain?”

Ask yourself – what would have to happen for this to be the most important book you’ve ever read in your entire life?

SOME TIME LINE THERAPY THEMES:

Have you ever done Gestalt Therapy? Inner child work? Past Life Regression? Primal Scream, Psycho Drama, or walking a time line? If you have, this is different.

Have you hear of Recovered Memory Therapy? Well this isn’t that – this is Time Line Therapy. RMT requires that the client has to re-experience the trauma from the past all over again, and it doesn’t always clear the emotions up. We do something different.

The body is holographic – neurotransmitters bathe every cell in your body, and these act as chemical messengers. In other words, every cell in your body knows what you’re thinking and feeling at any given moment. If you’re happy your eyelashes are happy. If you’re sad your teeth are sad. And all of your memories are stored throughout the body, not just in the brain. Massage therapists know about this – they can even fell those little black bags of stuck energy cluttering up the body’s neural pathways.

Time Line Therapy is content free therapy – meaning you can let go of issues without having to go deeply into all of the nitty-gritty and unpleasant detail. We don’t need to know who did what to you and how often and why. All we need to know is the root cause of the problem, and how you feel about it now?

Imagine that I’m an engineer and I want to destroy a dangerous old bridge. I don’t need to know the full history of who made it, how much concrete holds it together, the number of girders underneath it or the name and destination of every passenger on every train that ever went over it. I just need to know when was it built and where is the weak point that holds it all up. Does that make sense?
