I was raised in Wisconsin as a hard working individual. As a teenager I worked on a farm until I became a adult. I have never worked less than two jobs at a time until I turned 44. I don’t, … (and never have) smoke, drink, drug or gamble. In 2005 I successfully gave up caffeine entirely and haven’t had any since. My hobbies are automobiles, electronics, driving and photography. I have many friends, and I am well known in the tri-village area I live in. My adult careers that stayed with me long term are ‘commercial driver’ and ‘loss prevention agent’.
Stop That Cold
Have you ever stopped and wondered how a person can catch a cold? I’m no health care professional at all, but I can tell you most of the time its probably caught by means of your breathing, … through your mouth and nose via airborne germs and viruses. Other times may include exposure issues like having damp skin under your winter clothes while out in winter weather.
This article is going to focus on the first assumption so I can talk about a secret I discovered that works for me.
What you breathe can be virtually anything found in the air. Vehicle emissions, industrial discharges, plant pollen, germs of all kinds, and believe it or not … the air that other people have exhaled in crowded conference rooms, theaters, classrooms, elevators and more. This holds true for animals and plants as well as people. The air you breathe is shared by all life around you.
Your nose and mouth are the two important parts of your body that are responsible for such air to be brought into your body and then discharged through an act called breathing. With every breath you take, you may be processing the bad air along with the good air. This is just a fact of life.
Whenever you’re not feeling well, see your doctor. In situations involving a cold, the doctor may give you specific instructions and maybe medication to help treat or suppress your problems. Always follow your doctors advice.
In addition to following your doctors advise, did you know that there are a couple things you can do in addition to following your doctors advise that may help a great deal.
I’m notorious for catching colds because I’m constantly around other people. After finding a rare publication in a public library, I started exercising what I read. The last few times I got these colds, … in addition to following my doctors instructions, I exercised my research which involved brushing my teeth a couple extra times a day, and using a mouth wash a couple times a day until my cold was gone. I noticed this actually cut the duration of the cold in half. And I did it safely with just the regular hygiene items found in the home anyways. All this involved was, … using these items a little more often each day.
I’ll be the first to say I realize everyone’s biology is different, and this may not work as well for some people as it does with others. The next time you get a cold, consider this activity in addition to your doctors recommendations. When brushing, get the inside of your cheeks, get your gums and the top and bottom of your tongue. When using the mouth wash, don’t swallow any. Its safe, and your health care provider may even agree with trying it.
As I mentioned above, just about anything can be in the air you breath. What are the very first parts of your body to come into contact with the air that you breath? Your nose, mouth and throat of coarse.
Remember, you would be doing this in addition to your doctors recommendations, … NOT instead of your doctors recommendations.
