The Biggest Weight Loss Show on TV Returns

With the fall season finally here, television is kicking into gear. There are series premiers and season premiers every week as people gather to watch their favorite shows pick-up where they left off last spring. Each fall there is a new slate of shows trying to be the next Friends or Seinfeld. There are also a host of reality shows that might return for the newest season during the fall.

One such show that seems to captivate more audiences each season is The Biggest Loser. Biggest Loser is a reality television show that highlights contestants on their weight loss journey. Biggest Loser has taken on the family concept as the theme for this season’s show. Biggest Loser is currently airing the sixth season of the popular show, and this season promises to be one of the most emotional yet.

This season of Biggest Loser has one team featuring husbands and wives paired together, and one team of parents and children paired together. Thus far, Biggest Loser has already shown the difficulties that the contestants go through on this show. The premier featured personal trainers Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper traveling across the country to inform the contestants in person that they were selected to be on the show. Each contestant gave their story of how they ended up at their current weight, and what is motivating them to get through the show.

Viewers also got to watch the first husband and wife team get eliminated. There was a challenge where the contestants could win immunity from being voted off after the weigh-in, a phone call home, a trip home, a luxury night and an additional two pounds added to their final weight. The weigh-in is always an emotional time, because people are so shocked by how much weight they’ve lost in such a short amount of time.

One of the greatest parts of Biggest Loser is the realness of everything you see. You see these people that want so badly to lose weight realize just how brutal their training is going to be. Jillian and Bob start off hard and never let up. Many of the contestants openly say how they thought from watching the show on TV that it wouldn’t be as hard as it is. The Biggest Loser offers a wonderful $250,000 grand prize for the person that has the highest percentage of body weight lost at the end of the season, but everyone definitely works for everything they earn on this show.

It’s a great inspiration to those watching who might need to do some work on their weight and get healthier. Watching real people struggle to control their weight gives those watching a sense of pride. You want to see them succeed because there’s a part of you that’s at the ranch with them. The Biggest Loser brings out the athlete and competitor in us all.
