The Pain Relief Practice is a Singapore Specialized Physiotherapy Clinic for Fast, Effective and Affordable physiotherapists Treatments to Cure Pain Conditions
Should I visit a physiotherapist or chiropractor in directly instead and whom should I see in Singapore? Which is cheaper, more effective, faster treatment to cure my pain?
Choosing the right physical therapist/ physiotherapist or chiropractor for your spinal pain may be difficult, especially if you have never encounter such a pain. You would probably see a family doctor for your back pain but in your mind wonder what can a doctor do than prescribing medications or referring to a physical therapist/ physiotherapy or chiropractor. Should I visit a physical therapy/ physiotherapist or chiropractor directly instead and who should I see? Which is cheaper, more effective, faster treatment to cure my pain?
The ‘chiropractors versus physiotherapists’ argument may be wild in your head after evaluating your choices on your own, but with a little help here, hope you can make up your own mind.
Chiropractors or osteopaths are primarily in Singapore private practice and considered as an alternative treatment. Throughout the years many misunderstood facts have revolved around about chiropractors. Chiropractors use the title of respect “Doctor” in front of their name where as physiotherapist does not. Chiropractors are doctors, but not in medicine, but chiropractic. Most Chiropractors are not GP’s and are only using the title “Doctor of Chiropractic”.
The general public are confused about who does what and are told such a variety of replies to their questions they are understandably baffled.
The word “chiropractic” is a blending of the Greek words cheir (hand) and praxis (action) and signifies “done by hand.
Chiropractors mainly manipulate the spine and joints or ‘click everything back into place’. When the chiropractor isolates the source of the problem, a manipulation may give instant relief of pain and stiffness!
A Physiotherapist also treats pain and stiffness, among other things, and can use manipulation/mobilizations as one of the many treatments options available.
The main question any health-care practitioner must ask is ‘why did the joint become stiff or painful in the first place?’ That answer will lead to the CAUSE/SOURCE of the problem and not just the SYMPTOM.
In Singapore, you can only find physiotherapists who are recognized health care practitioners to work in the hospitals. Chiropractor can only be found in private clinic in Singapore.
Finally, how much will it cost to do physical therapy/ physiotherapy or chiropractor in Singapore?
Physiotherapy sessions are typically longer (up to 1 or more) while chiropractic sessions are typically shorter in duration (up to 30 minutes or less), depending on individual conditions. Ask how long you will be getting for treatment and how much each session costs. When you have this information compare other professions for value. Ask yourself if you are only offered 10 mins per session ” am i on a factory assembly line and is this sufficient time to help me? $80 may be cheaper than $100 but if you compare 10 minutes to 30 minutes you can make value comparisons. The cheapest isn’t always the best and the most expensive isn’t always the best too.
That is also not to say that one resolution is more proficient than the other. In the ‘chiropractors versus physiotherapists’ controversy, both sides have their uses and their strengths; one may demonstrate more effective for one individual, but another person with a slightly different problem may benefit from the other option.
