The purpose of this article is not to hammer you with the worst of all the diseases and try and shock you into quitting. Instead, this article should provide you with a better understanding of the risks that smokers take.
As a society we are bombarded with anti-smoking campaigns through various media, even through our family and friends. Many smokers know of the dangers they risk but subconsciously resist to fully acknowledge the consequences. The smokers mind blocks them from fully comprehending the risks and we brush them off with stupid remarks such as “Ill day someday anyway”. Are our lives that invaluable that we don’t care if we die an early death?
If you are a smoker please read below some of the diseases that you may unfortunately be hit with. Do not ignore any of them, read them, acknowledge them and grasp their seriousness. Think to yourself, what it would actually feel like to have one of them.
The longer you continue to smoke; the more chance you have of getting any one of the following conditions:
Cancers of the lung, mouth, throat, larynx and esophagus
Heart Disease
Impotence
Gum disease
Peripheral artery disease
Premature births
Low birth weight babies
Cataracts
Ulcer conditions
Cervical cancer
Bladder cancer
Emphysema
Chronic bronchitis
Aneurysms
These are just some of the dangers associated with smoking. Please don’t brush them off. Think how it would be like to have a condition like any of the above, don’t ignore the facts. Let the thoughts sink in.
Fortunately, there is a simple solution to all this, that works immediately and you can see the difference within days. By Quitting. QUIT NOW, not tomorrow, or next month or year. If you truly value your life, now is the time.
Immediately after stopping our body starts to heal itself. Our blood pressure and heart rate drops and carbon monoxide levels decrease within the body. Our sense of smell and taste go back to normal within days of quitting. These are just some of the immediate benefits you can obtain by simply quitting. You will feel the results within days.
Remember that it is never too late to quit.
Quitting is easy. It will require some courage, perseverance and knowledge but it is achievable. Don’t block your mind with ignorance and continue to smoke. Empower yourself. Free yourself. Enjoy Life.
