How to lose 20 pounds in one month
Summer is here and it's time to haul out that bathing suit. But first you step up on that scale it looks like you'll need to lose about 15 pounds of winter weight before you're ever going to fit into it. Even if it is winter and you want to go on a Caribbean cruise, you know you want to lose the pounds fast. So what are some ways that you can get rid of that unwanted gain?
One: You could go on one of those starvation diets. But do you really want to cut down to just 1500 calories per day? That sounds like a recipe for just gaining it all back again to me.
Two: You could give up carbohydrates like one popular diet plan suggests. But is this really effective for allowing you to lose 15 pounds fast? Again, it's one of those denial type plans. Do you want to be constantly telling yourself no to everything you want to eat?
Three: Low-fat. I don't know about you, but I love the feel of those nice round fat molecules in my mouth. And let's face it; your body needs a certain amount of fat to keep it healthy. I'm not talking about trans-fats; those are artificial and bad for you. I'm talking about the mono- and poly-unsaturated kinds. Heck, even a small amount of sat-fat is good for you.
Four: Get more exercise. While I'm fast in favor of this method of losing pounds, I realize it's not for everyone. Maybe you have such a busy schedule and you don't have time for it. Or some people just hate exercising. Even for those folks I would suggest going for a pleasant nature walk, just to get your heart going. Apart for helping you lose weight fast, it could just save your life.
Five: Learn about calorie shifting. This is, I think, the single most effective method of safe, easy, and effective weight loss. It's very new, but has a real scientific basis to it. When you eat, your brain gives off hormones that determine whether your metabolism is going to store calories in your body or not. What you want is for your body to burn those pounds instead of retaining them. Your body actually remembers and anticipates the sort of food you eat. So if you can alternate the types of food and more importantly, the times in which you eat them, you can program your metabolism into burning the pounds instead of storing them. I know you want to lose weight fast, but you need real way to lose those pounds, not with some fly by night diet scheme.
