In a previous article I discussed the answer to the question do I need to exercise to lose weight? My simple answer to this question is yes. The combination of diet and exercise is most effective in achieving your weight and body fat loss goals. Exercises help lose weight but they also add something unique to any weight loss plan and in achieving a firm and sculpted body.
Exercises can stimulate your muscles to grow and to become more firm so as you are losing bodyfat you will take on the appearance of a fit and healthy structure. In the end diet is not enough to achieve a muscular looking body. Diet has a number of benefits regarding your health but if you want to achieve a tone and fit appearance then you have to perform exercises to stimulate your muscles to get them to that point. This is only one advantage that exercising offers combined with proper diet and nutrition.
In the end losing bodyfat and ultimately weight requires that you incorporate a well rounded plan of proper diet, nutrition and exercise. If you have not exercised in quite some time or never at all, begin slowly with simple exercises that will start to improve your endurance and your tolerance for more aggressvie exercise.
So to answer the question do I need to exercise to lose weight you need to understand that maximum weight loss or maximum bodyfat loss is accomplished by maintaining the proper nutritional balance throughout the day and giving your body more of a reason to burn calories. This is where loss of bodyfat and weight loss comes from. Giving your body the proper nutrition throughout the day will actually help it burn more calories quicker and more efficiently than if you don't eat properly. So eating right can cause your body to continuously burn calories.
Now, when you combine a proper diet with exercise you will increase your body's calorie burning potential. In doing this your body will become a calorie burning machine even when you are not exercising. You will burn calories even when you are sleeping! This is ultimately the state that you want to achieve.
Do you need to exercise to lose weight? Absolutely. Combined with proper diet and nutrition it is the most effective combination to achieve your body fat and weight loss goals.
