Why Should I Quit Smoking

Short intro: So many people smoke and wish they could quit that we recently posted a new website TheStopSmokingSource.com  dedicated to helping these folks break the chain. I personally watched my brother smoke himself to an early, painful death and am currently watching my sister do the same thing. It’s painful to watch but also to watch my 91 year old mother grieve as she watches her children slowly die. If you smoke and want to quit please visit our site and get the help you need. If someone you love needs help to quit the cancer sticks, for goodness sake, visit our site and you will find the help you need. Enjoy the article:

Why Should I Quit Smoking

I can't remember the first time I heard the term "cancer sticks" or "coffin nails" used in referring to cigarette smoking. I was pretty young so that goes back a few lustrum's. If you don't know how long a lustrum is, look it up.

So why do people take up a habit like smoking anyway. Well let me turn the question around, why did I ever think it was cool to smoke?

I tried cigarettes but never learned to inhale. The first time I tried I nearly choked myself to death (yea, I see you laughing because it happened to you too).

Then I tried cigars, and I liked them but the people around me hated it, especially my wife. She gave me an ultimatum, "Would you rather smoke those things or get kissed 'cause you aren't going to have both." Well that was a no-brainer! I had a good love life and wanted to keep it.

So then I switched to a pipe. I thought a pipe looked so cool (it wasn't) but she tolerated that. But then I started getting sore throats and coughing up a bloody mess (I won't go there because I know you get the picture). I know that if I had continued I would have died an early death.

When you are young it's easy to think that you are indestructible (You aren't!). Or that you can quit anytime you want (You can't).

To quit smoking is the single best gift you can give yourself and your family. Smoking takes 10 to 12 years off your life. Plus think about this, just living for livings sake means little if you don't have good health.

Smoking affects a man's virility and speaking as a man that's reason enough. Smoking damages the skin, you can always tell a heavy smoker especially women just by looking at the skin. Smoking damages the gums and teeth, the heart and lungs and the circularity system.

Back where I grew up farmers smoked their hams every winter and smoke houses were and still are a common site. Why? Because they dry the moisture and preserve the meat. Cigarette smoking does the same to your body.

Most people have a terrific time getting unhooked once they are hooked. Smoking affects more than just the physical body it also affects the mental condition as well.

While gums and patches help most people need a mental boost to get themselves "unhooked" from this habit. A few can quit "cold turkey" but very few. I have personally known only two.

That's where hypnosis can help. Hypnosis alone is a big boost, but if you feel the need to "stick something in your mouth" or think you can't quit cold turkey even with hypnosis, then couple it with gums or a patch. That will increase your chance of quitting forever.

If you have tried unsuccessfully to quit smoking you owe it to yourself to give it another try. What do you have to lose except a stinky habit anyway? (And a lot of cash back in your pocket too!) You will be glad you did.

Lat Workouts for the Next Millennium

The curtain rises. The lights dim. The show is about to begin. On this day, however, a movie screen is hardly necessary. All you need is any of today's hot bodybuilders and you're ready for action. Mr. Whoever flips around, drops his hands on his hips, and spreads 'em as if he were under arrest. What follows is nothing short of eye-popping. At first, they look like enormous batwings, preparing to take flight. But a closer look at those bulging slabs of iron and there can be no mistaking what the

Are You Still Smoking? Want To Quit Smoking?

By: Dewey Kearney | 12/06/2009 | Wellness
I don’t believe there is any person reading this who would argue the dangers of smoking or that smoking is addictive. We have tried several ways as a people to discourage cigarette smoking short from a complete smoking ban; from banning it in public buildings to postings a warning on the packs themselves yet still an estimated 45 million Americans are still addicted. Are you one of them? Would you like to stop smoking? My brother was one of these who died from smoking and soon my sister will als

I watched my brother and sister struggle to quit smoking. I was raised in a non-smoking home and though I had a few relatives who smoked by and large most of my family didn't. Be Careful What you Throw Away

By: Dewey Kearney | 25/01/2008 | Credit
Everyone at one time or another has either joked about or heard a joke about “Dumpster Diving”. Usually it refers to someone scavenging for food or behind a store to see what they have thrown out. And everyone has heard of someone finding something of real value in the trash. Personally I’ve seen someone on the Antique Road Show showing off a painting they found this way, only to be told it’s worth some extraordinary amount of money. This article is not about that kind of buried treasure but another kind that most people have been guilty of throwing out; the most personal things that contain information about you that in the wrong hands can cause you an awful headache, otherwise known as Identity Theft. Identity theft is the fastest growing crime wave in the United States according to the FBI and the US Postal Service. The US Postal Service says on their site that identity theft from stealing mail from your mailbox is not a big problem but it does happen. So if you have something to mail that contains your SS number or a credit card bill that has your number on it, they recommend that you take it to the Post Office and put it in a secure box.

Building a Credit History

By: Dewey Kearney | 25/01/2008 | Credit
Have you ever applied for a loan and been turned down? I have and I remember my feelings at the time. I was embarrassed, angry, hurt and just plain mad. I had been on my own for several years, always paid my bills on time and felt that somehow I had been severely wronged. Those were the days before credit cards were as easy to get and it was harder to establish credit than now.

Are you Ready for the Next Wave of Identity Theft?

By: Dewey Kearney | 24/01/2008 | Personal Finance
As everyone knows unless you have been asleep like Rip Van Winkle identity theft has become the #1 crime wave in the U.S.A. according to the FBI and the US Postal Service. Now a new fear has raised its head because of the recent federal and the state laws that go into effect on January 1, 2008. For years anyone in the country illegally could (and still can) purchase any type of document on the street from some vendor. These fake documents can range from a Social Security card, drivers license, green card or practically anything else people are willing to pay for.
