Drinking in Muà with Bormioli Rocco glasses

In the heart of Genoa, the old Enel company canteen becomes Muà, a café restaurant with an international spirit that is also rooted in the city and its Liguria identity: in the local dialect “Muà” means “pour the wine”, and various local dishes and wines feature on the menu, in company with more cosmopolitan alternatives.

The owners – she from Liguria, he from Campania – had clear ideas about what they wanted when they began restoring the premises: an “urban chic” space that would project an image expressing contemporary culture in cuisine and design.

Instead of tablecloths, the tables are covered by handcrafted runners. Personnel wear finely tailored clothes. The glasses are supplied by Bormioli Rocco, a brand whose story is interwoven with the history of glassmaking and of Italian international export.

Wine glasses, cocktail glasses, cups, ice cream bowls are just some examples of the company’s range of products designed for the Horeca and hospitality sector. Conceived and made to perform to specific functionality and practicality requirements, the Professional Line also features outstanding design standards and adds an unmistakeable touch of style to décor and mood.

Maybe it’s partly to do with the large open space dominated by the iron counter, maybe it’s the day-long non-stop opening hours, maybe it’s the sophisticated and exquisite wine and food it serves, but the fact is that this corner of the Borgo San Sebastiano district really makes you feel you’re in a cosmopolitan capital like New York or London.
