Wine Bottle Refrigerator? Choosing the Perfect Wine Bottle Refrigerator

Out of all the items being sold in today's market, a wine bottle refrigerator are not seen very often, yet they are gaining in popularity for their updated temperature technology and their ideal environment for storing a multitude of wines for any occasion. Smaller and less valuable wine collections wouldn't necessarily need an extravagant wine bottle refrigerator, but those who have their hands on truly vintage bottles of wine should look into the proper storage system.

Initially, the appeal of a wine refrigerator, as opposed to a regular refrigerator, is its ability to apply pre-set temperatures to the refrigerator in order to keep the wine in peak condition. Some wine  refrigerators even have the ability to maintain the temperature and the atmospheric conditions inside the refrigerator that match the temperature and atmospheric conditions under which the wine was made; unfortunately, unless you collect only one kind of wine, this feature can be useless. Also, the wine  refrigerators can be set to accommodate specific types of wine such a white, red, or sparkling based on individual temperatures, and some dual zone wine bottle refrigerators are now available. Dual zone wine bottle refrigerators can save you space and money since you don't have to purchase two wine bottle refrigerators to store your reds and whites.

Now, choosing which wine cooler is best for your circumstances can pose a challenge. One brand of wine  refrigerators is produced by Bosch. The pros of this brand include compressor, evaporator, electronic controls and independent temperature control in two components, a large capacity (up to 98 bottles of wine), and a UV protected glass door which are all essentials for the true wine collector. On the down side, customization is not available, it can weigh up to 300 pounds, and, the cherry on top-the price can be up to $ 4,000. This Bosch is well worth the money if you have it; however, lower priced wine bottle refrigerators do exist. For instance, brands like Avanti, Amana, Danby, Haier, and GE are safe for your check book. Anything secondhand is always a good option, as well.  Look out for brands like Cuisinart, Kitchenaid, and Emerson because they tend to be of lower quality. If you are looking into purchasing an economically-sane wine bottle refrigerator, major areas of concern include average temperature, temperature stability, humidity, ventilation, and light. These criteria, if not met properly, can cause your precious vino to perish.

Other important areas of concern are the placement of your wine bottle refrigerator in your home. Be sure that it isn't placed in an area that experiences sunlight or drafts from doors or windows. To avoid issues with light, it is suggested that when choosing a door for the refrigerator, those who choose a glass door should make sure to get darkened or smoked glass to filter out the light.

When the right wine bottle refrigerator is found, you will definitely get comfort in knowing you are properly storing your wine collection to preserve it for many years to come.
