Avoiding Yeast Infections

Avoiding yeast infections is a priority for some women as 5% of women suffer from chronic Candia overgrowth, and this overgrowth can seriously damage your good health. What most women don't realize is, the human body is perfectly capable of preventing yeast infections itself if you keep your natural defenses up to full strength.

Yeast infections are the result of your body not being able to look after itself. Drug manufacturers lead you to believe that killing the fungus is the only way to cure Candida overgrowth. This couldn't be further from the truth. You can kill the fungus as many times as you like, but if your body allows the Candida yeast to mutate into more fungus, then applying cream to your infection a hundred times still won't cure you.

We all have the Candida Albicans yeast living in our body. There is nothing we can do about that, it gets swallowed with our food on a daily basis. What stops healthy people from getting a yeast infection is their natural defenses. These are your beneficial bacteria and your immune system. When these are healthy they prevent the Candida from mutating by keeping it under control.

Candida overgrowth can also be a sign that you have an underlying health condition that you either don't know about, or it is not being treated properly. Diabetes is the most common health condition that can cause yeast infections because it weakens immunity, and plays havoc with blood sugar levels. If you're suffering from Diabetes then you should speak to your doctor about a different way of controlling it.

Eating a diet that is high in nutrition, and low in sugar and refined carbohydrates will help your body's natural defenses. When you eat a healthy diet your immune system is given a boost from the vitamins and minerals in the food. The Candida yeast loves sugar, and the more you eat, the more the yeast can eat, and this makes it stronger, and then it grows in numbers.

Once you know what it is that is causing your infections, avoiding yeast infections becomes easy. once you stop doing the things that are encouraging the growth of fungus in your body you'll never need to suffer again.
