Oral anti fungals cause bacterial and chemical imbalances in your intestines which will upset your intestinal flora, and weaken your immune system.

Some women use over the counter yeast remedies as a preventative. They think that they are keeping their vagina clean and free of fungus by using these creams when they don’t need to. This is one of the downsides of these treatments being so freely available. Your vagina is self cleaning and doesn’t need anything put into it to keep it clean. If there is an itch or an odor then you have an infection that needs to be diagnosed by your doctor.

Some women will self diagnose a yeast infection just from their symptoms. If they don’t have a yeast infection they will create one, and also leave the real infection untreated so that will get worse.
