How to Get That Balance
Author: Irina Wardas | Posted: 23-04-2008 | Comments: 0 | Views: 7 | Rating: (101) (?)
When we talk about women’s health, it is always about stress and stress related issues. Ladies, we are full of emotions, aren’t we? And nothing we can do about it, but ….
Let us think for a second what causes stress in our life? Well, if I say emotions and bad food choices, will you believe me? I am not sure, but it is true. To feel and look good we have to find balance in our lifestyle and in our body. So let’s talk about Primary and Secondary foods in our life.
Primary foods, what does it mean? It is food, but not exactly the one we can eat from our plates when we are hungry. This is something that feed us in different way, and I am talking about a hug, a kiss, a touch, a smile. This group of “foods” consists of career, relationship, physical activities, and spiritual life. Our mind is not separate from the body. The thoughts we have influence our physical condition. How satisfied we are in each areas of our life is very important for our overall balance.
Secondary foods are actual food we can put on our plates. Unfortunately, not all food is the same. There are natural whole foods, such as fruit, vegetables, grains, nuts, seeds. And there are processed foods, refined foods, junk food.
Throughout most of history, food for our body was whole foods. In general, they supply our bodies with instructions they need to function properly.
Processed foods, from another hand, contain chemically derived ingredients our bodies don’t know how to read. One of the biggest problems of the modern American diet is that we move further and further from natural foods to artificial and refined. It creates metabolic disaster-imbalance. Coupled with chronic stress and low level of exercises this blank (no nutrients) food contributes to chronic inflammation which leads to diabetes, heart disease, obesity, women’s issues, etc., in other words it leads to imbalance in our body.
Toxic chemicals in the water we drink and the air we breathe also affect our metabolic imbalance and contribute to inflammation in our body which leads to illnesses. That is why it is so important to detox/cleanse our body from time to time to get back our balance.
To reach our metabolic balance, we have to change our food and nutrition preferences, experimenting and making choices based on our bio-individuality.
To find our lost overall balance we have to start listening to our bodies and paying attention to areas we are dissatisfied the most.
We have to learn how to prioritize our health, our relationships, our jobs, etc. We have to sort them out and start a wonderful journey to wellness, journey that will help us to get back our healthy body and happy mind.
