PolyCystic Ovary Syndrome commonly called PCOS has been estimated to affect 1 in 10 women all around the world. With 10% of the female gender suffering from this condition it is also known as the hidden epidemic also as many women do not even know they have PCOS. With numbers of this condition so high it can defiantly be called an epidemic but is it too soon to be terribly concerned with this statistic?

First the reason this condition is so hard to track is that the symptoms are not overtly easy to spot. They include:

* Infertility
* Weight Gain
* Acne
* Facial Hair Growth
* Irregular Menstruation
* Ovarian Cysts
* Insulin Resistance
* Strokes

While not all women with PCOS suffer from all of these problems and not all of these problems are just caused by PCOS the list is subtle and extensive.

This is all caused by an irregularity in a woman's ovaries where it creates male hormones called androgenic hormones including testosterone and other a women's body does not handle well in large quantities. IT is unproven as to why and how this happens but it is possible to prove a woman has PCOS by mainstream medicine if not curable by the same people.

However while all this looks bad can we actually label this a simple annoyance that women can overcome? Mainstream medicine and pharmaceutical companies are more interested in making people buy long term courses of medicines that do not cure a problem but only suppress the symptoms until the drugs stop. There has however been a revolution in the way people are starting to look at PCOS however with homeopathic treatments that rely on natural cures through diet, exercise, sleep and other factors that can have more powerful effects on the body than any drugs without the risks and short lives results.

PCOS, hidden epidemic with dire consequences or a solvable problem? The choice is yours to make.
