What a Migraine Is When you find that you are feeling a pain in your head that throbs or makes you feel nauseated and any sudden movements only intensifies the pain, you are experiencing a migraine. When you find that you are seeing lights or halos around people when you are feeling this headache and the pain you are feeling seems pretty excruciating at times, that may also be a migraine. Nobody really knows for sure what triggers this rather excruciating pain in the head or if there is yet a cure. However, research is currently being done to find out why this kind of headache happens more in women than in men and what can be done to minimize the occurrence and the intensity of the pain. Why Migraines Happen More in Women While women may think it is pretty unfair that they get to experience this kind of pain more than men do, it has actually been chalked down to one thing - women have more hormonal changes and estrogen levels than men.
