How to Prevent Accidents Whilst Curling Your Hair

Curling hair is something that almost every woman has done before, and lots do on a daily or weekly basis. The effect that it has on the look of a woman is beyond doubt - it looks great!

However, it's no easy task to curl your own hair. Handling an extremely hot instrument whilst also looking in the mirror requires skill and dexterity. It's far from uncommon to sustain burns to the ears as a result, and finding some way of preventing this would be welcomed by women everywhere.

Due to the potential consequences, doing nothing and hoping for the best is not an option. Most women simply use their spare hand to push their ear out of the way when the curling tongs are near it, but burns still occur when trying to do this; not only to the ear itself, but also to the hand that has been placed in the danger area. Some have tried wrapping their ears with cloth or tissue which, whilst somewhat helping, is uncomfortable and a lot of effort.

You can of course visit a professional hairdresser or beautician to have it done for you, but this, for most women, can only be done occasionally as a treat for a special event or party, not a regular basis.

Also, the risk of burnt or damaged skin exists even if a professional is styling your hair for you. Though they have more experience, accidents do still happen, especially a student or trainee be assigned to you.

This issue of the heat from curling tongs damaging womens' ears, and the sensitive areas around the ears, is not something that has gone un-noticed by hair and beauty product manufacturers; indeed, a number of products have been released in the past as a response to it. Various wearable shields, guards and expandable combs have been invented to try help women to curl their hair safely.

However, whilst some of these products have been semi-successful, none have solved the specific issue of navigating a curling iron in and around the ears. They have instead mostly been focused on protecting the forehead, scalp or neck.

For ears though, there has recently been a new product made available - ear covers. They are specially made for the purpose and must just be taken from the packet they come in and then placed over each ear. Simple as they seem, they are perfect for the job at hand.

By using them, hairstylists, beauty schools students, and individuals who style their own hair, no longer have to worry about ear burns, discomfort from heat or staining the ears with hair color.

Though, ear covers are relatively new products in the hair care market, they are widely available already. A quick search on Google will being up plenty of hair care and beauty stores that have them in stock now.

They're affordable and would certainly be welcome addition to any woman's beauty accessories. They are also ideal as a small and unexpected gift for your friends and family members.
