Your Body Is Precious - Make It A Priority

If you were told that you could earn one million dollars simply by spending an hour each day working on a farm, would you do it? Let's say you were offered free tickets - the best in the house - for your favorite artist, and a subsequent visit with that person if you would simply put five hours per week into something you're not particularly fond of. Would you be tempted? My guess is that you answered yes to both of these questions.

My next question, then, is why wouldn't you invest as much time in order to look good, feel good and very likely add longevity and an astonishing amount of quality to your life? I'm often quite surprised by the reluctance of so many women to commit to a regular regimen of exercise. It's so very easy and there's nothing negative that results in fitness, yet the majority of women simply have no desire to put a little effort toward doing so much good for their bodies, as well as their minds.

Most of us spend our days doing for others and we're all entitled to some "me" time. While lounging on a couch may sound all too appealing for many women, believe it or not, with the right attitude, exercise can be even more appealing. If you take a moment to think about the benefits of a regular fitness schedule you may very possibly make the necessary adjustments to fit exercise into your daily routine.

Think very carefully about what it is that you get out of relaxing on the sofa for an hour or so. Yes, it may feel good for that short period of time, but is your relaxation time contributing to your self-esteem? Is it giving you a long-term burst of energy? Are you burning calories? Is your body showing any physical signs of improvement, such as lost inches or toned thighs? Nope! Nada! The only positive result of sitting during your "me" time is that you can say "Gosh, that felt good."

By using valuable time for yourself being physically inactive, you're actually creating potential problems - both physically and mentally. If you're not regularly active - and I do mean through exercising with weight resistance to build muscle - you're losing muscle mass, lacking energy and gaining fat. All of these results can lead to a very unhealthy state of mind, as well as numerous physical conditions.

So, step it up and get to the gym. Pretend that you stand to earn that million dollars or those great concert tickets. In reality, what you're really gaining is so much more because you can't put a price on physical and emotional fitness, beauty and overall good health.
