How to write an essay that will teach your students?

Would you like to show and teach your students how to write an essay? Do you want to amaze parents, your colleagues, and school administrators with your students' amazing skills of essay writing?

In this day and age, essays are very common and a critically useful way of learning. Experts say that they are the perfect tool to make students learn any topic or subject. The point to ponder here is that most teachers themselves are not professional writers. So, they also need to devise some way to learn and then teach their students just the right way of how to write an essay.

Sometimes, for most of the people writing is a frustrating business even if they are really good at it. Even, for teachers writing can be maddening, lengthy and a cumbersome task too.

Learning and applying some simple techniques can really help a teacher to make the students learn the art of essay writing.

Don’t leave anything to chance. Just follow these general guidelines and your students will be finishing their essay examination with flying colors.

  1. Show your students a simple format that will help them write essays on any topic from any writing domain.
  2. Start with a small essay writing task.
  3. Tell them and teach them how to write exciting introduction and conclusion.
  4. Devise a detailed lesson plan that will show your students a step-by-step procedure of writing any essay in general.
  5. Help them by showing with some examples how to organize their ideas.
  6. Teach them the format in which an essay in general should be written.
  7. Show them how to take into consideration the content, purpose, and length of an essay.
  8. Brainstorming is a necessary step. So, if the topic is comparative type then it’s a good idea to encourage students to pick a position on the topic about which they feel most passionately. Tell them to quickly develop a pros and cons list to facilitate making a decision.
  9. It all depends on the age and ability level of your students that how long will it take to teach them to write an essay. So, go with the pace which the students understand. Take care of slow learners as well as students with a quick grasping power.
  10. Explain them why and how that they can use a similar approach for writing regardless of the type of essay assigned.
  11. All forms of essay writing will become easy once your students have mastered the basic essay writing format.

Using these tips teachers will be able to show their students how simple it is to master one of the most important skills a student can acquire and that is essay writing.

The ability to organize your ideas and thoughts and communicate them clearly is the backbone of learning how to write an essay. Using these simple guidelines your students will be able to learn how to write impressive introductions, informative and interesting essay body and refined conclusions.
