Technology and the Art of Writing

Expressing one’s thoughts sometimes becomes a difficult task especially if you were not used to speaking in front of people who are giving you their full attention. While there are people who could easily enunciate their thoughts in speech, there are those who prefer to write down their thoughts instead. The pen becomes their means of being heard, of being able to share their innermost thoughts.

For a time being, men were used to this kind of practice. Every time they think of something good, or bad, they would just grab a pen and paper and start writing. Sometimes, depending on the person, one would write on a piece of scented paper, some would use stationery, while you can find someone who would get a large leaf and inscribe the thoughts of their hearts on it. Somehow, this writing practice has changed dramatically.

With the overwhelming influence of the Web today, the pen has become the keyboard, the paper into the monitor, the filing cabinet turned into a small compact hard disk, and the courier service that brings documents to the other side of the planet became the World Wide Web. Typewriters became a thing of the past, with you shaving to go to museums to find one.

Ever since the birth of the World Wide Web in 1994, everything started moving in lightning speeds, and all things began existing in the virtual world. Papers were minimized, offices became less cluttered, computers became integral parts of office desks, and the world became smaller.

People in the East began writing letters to those living in the West through email. The seemingly impossible and too expensive task of talking to a friend living in the other side of the world became less tedious and affordable. Publications became attainable without having to spend too much on a publishing company. Because of this, people started to write a story online.

In fact, many people today write a story online. They know that their stories would reach a thousand places. So many people would be able to read them, and that it would mean touching and becoming a part of the lives of others. What makes an author contented is, knowing that people took the time to read what they want to share.

So for those who plan to write story online, do not hesitate to do it. You would feel satisfaction with every story that you publish online.
