The Art of Selling

Sales are called a "perpetuum mobile" of trade and therefore it is essential to know the rules of the "game". Indeed sales look more like a game than a business. There are certain rules to follow and points to score. But the scales are a bit larger than any game included in the Olympics has. This is a game that shuts down businesses and reveals new possibilities for successful rivals. The art of selling is a rare gift but those who are gifted know the value of success.

It may only seem easy to sell a product to a customer. The truth is that it is impossible to learn to sale in a year or so. To develop necessary skills within a person, a couple of years should be spent both researching and practicing. A good salesman requires good knowledge of psychology, vast information sources and communication skills. To be a salesman means to be a researcher, an investigator of the matter as deep as it is only possible to be an expert in what you sell. There are three main factors that will help you to sell effectively. Imagination, language and senses of a person are very important in the art of selling. Try to imagine your favorite car trade mark. If you do, you see yourself in this car in 95% of cases when you see it. A task of a salesman is to resurrect that picture from a person's mind and add new elements towards the image. The association bridges will lead to this picture you want your client to imagine and therefore you need to give at least some details to build associations. Working in this direction, do not forget that you sell a product but a customer buys benefits of it. People of the 21st century would like to live in comfort and without problems and your task as a salesman is to prove to a client that he can live comfortably and benefit from any of the services and products you advertise. When having a talk with a client or communicating to the public, you use the language. By this we do not mean a standard language means but a specific stylistic arrangement of carefully chosen words that may cause that image to occur in the head of a client. When thinking matters over, humans activate the most of their senses that are only five: touch, smell, taste, sound and sight. Each person has a dominating sense which he trusts best. If you will be able to evaluate this sense and use it to persuade, the success will come to you.

Sales are difficult to perform but the feeling of a victory brings high self-esteem and career growth. Selling products we are to pay attention on the tiniest factors that influence human opinion therefore studying products we study and improve ourselves.
