There is No Justification for Killing

We attempt to find a reason to justify murders. That may be by blaming it on horrible music images, or by finding a reason to consider killing to be “right”. Marilyn Manson in his article “Columbine: Whose Fault is it?” provides a lot of examples of the human race attempting to find a reason to justify killing, for instance, when pro-life activists killed Dr. David Gunn in Florida. Manson asks, why we try to find justification for someone, just because it appears to be for the right reasons. Are there any right reasons for such actions? The meaning that can be derived from the article is that killing can not be justified, and we are guilty if we do kill. There is no help from media. What is important and should not be left without attention is that media are people too, like all the others, so Marilyn Manson is absolutely right when he says that everything that happens in the world is our fault, we get more and more violent, so every one should blame only himself.

The article “Childhoods End” written by Lance Morrow did not in any way affected my reading of the article written by Marilyn Manson. There are certain reasons for this. The first article I read was Morrow’s, and then I read the article of Marilyn Manson. I felt that the article of Lance Morrow did not actually predisposed me to think in any definite way about the problem raised in the article, that is why it did not influence my reading of Marilyn Manson’s article. Moreover, I never once thought of the issues discussed in Morrow’s article while reading Manson’s article. On the other hand, I did notice that the two articles were in some kind of agreement with each other. Both articles say that youth violence is on the rise and provide the same reasons.
